Testing task: Operate a pressed toggle button

With NVDA in focus mode on mode, describe how NVDA behaves when performing task "Starting at the 'Mute' button, activate the button."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for NVDA. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the button, and sets its state to 'pressed'.
  3. Press Insert+Space. If NVDA made the browse mode sound, press Insert+Space again to turn focus mode back on.
  4. Starting at the 'Mute' button, activate the button.
  5. Using the following commands, Starting at the 'Mute' button, activate the button.
    • Space (browse mode on)
    • Enter (browse mode on)
    • Space (focus mode on)
    • Enter (focus mode on)

Success Criteria

To pass this test, NVDA needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Change in state, to 'not pressed', is conveyed
